Bercow is now Speaker and more

John Bercow, MP, technically no longer exists. He has been replaced with Speaker Bercow. Nadine Dorries made some strong points as to why Bercow should not be Speaker. http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/debate/article-1194464/NADINE-DORRIES-Bercow-oily-opportunist-lacking-loyalty-courage--I-speak-Tory.html

“He makes petty criticisms of Conservative MPs’ use of grammar when they speak, while heaping obsequious praise on Labour MPs. This is pure opportunism. He has coveted the role of Speaker for years and has wooed Labour for its vote.

“Tories can reel off a list of reasons why John would be a disaster as Speaker. It includes his oily behaviour towards the Government, his lack of loyalty to his own party and the way he petulantly stormed out of two front-bench jobs”

(EDITOR: If so, Bercow needs to learn a whole new set of manners and attitudes unless he is to mire the chair of speaker in even worse smelling mud than even Speaker Martin did.

“Alan Johnson's expenses: It is a relief to many in the Labour Party that the most likely candidate to succeed Gordon Brown has emerged unscathed from the expenses scandal.”

(EDITOR: As in: “phew! There are at least two Labour MPs who haven't been troughing! What a relief!” No, that's not a relief. Next Labour government made up of Johnson and Field?)

That's it for this morning. Next update after teatime this evening!
